Free From Demonic Oppressions

You can live a life free from demonic oppressions! This free devotional will show you how.

Genealogy is like a family tree. Every person is a part of a family, even if they are unaware of it. You are a combination of your parents, and there is a part of them in you. God and the devil understand this even better than you do. Since the world is constantly changing, God doesn’t want exact copies of people but individuals predestined to be different. This is why people don’t marry their siblings and why we can’t predict the DNA of our future spouses. Destiny will decide. Some children are born out of wedlock, some through legal means, and others through criminal acts, but they are all still children who have a part of you. Even in procreation, the selection of who we become is predestined as millions of seeds are released into a woman, but only one will be successful.

We live in a generation where many people want to evade their responsibilities. Some children say, “My birth was a gift. I owe you nothing.” However, they are a part of their parents. If their mother had married someone else, she would have given birth to a different child—not them. This is why Christ criticized the Jews who did not honor their parents. (Matthew 15:4–6 NIV) Similarly, parents are responsible for how their children turn out in society. (Proverbs 22:6 KJV)

Anyone who has worked with young children knows that there is an age range during which children are in the learning process, and it is during this time that most behaviors and responses to their environment develop. If children are taught through violence during this stage, then there is no room for complaint later on. If the children are not adequately educated at this tender age but are instead spoiled, the consequences will be evident in the future. Failure to educate children properly during this tender stage will result in society influencing them negatively.

If you only educate your children but do not reinforce what you have taught through discipline, don’t be surprised if they don’t uphold those teachings. Children are very good at observing and imitating; if there is no good example to follow, they will likely mimic the bad instead. Those who work with young children know that they observe adults closely and may even learn surprising things about them. Some children can even predict how adults will react to their misbehavior. They are astute observers.

We are part of our parents, and a part of them lives within us. This part forms the genealogy link. Even if you migrate to a different country and live there for generations, if your bones were studied, they would reveal your origin. The same applies to the spiritual; the link is there. Even if you are no longer in contact with these people, the link is still present—it is your DNA. An Italian who migrated to France and claims to be entirely French will still have DNA that betrays his origins and family links.

When parents or relatives sin, guilt is endorsed by all those connected. What is guilt? It’s not the sin itself but the responsibility for it. While God can forgive sins, the guilt remains. Even when you are forgiven, the fact that you committed the sin cannot be erased. These evil acts or crimes are permanently in the spiritual realm (Genesis 4:10 NIV), and the responsibility has to be acknowledged. (Exodus 34:6–7 NIV) The Accuser (Satan) knows this and delights in working on it, gaining power through accusations. The air, the earth, and the seas continually cry out for justice. None of these crimes can be undone. However, the LORD said He would only hold people accountable up to the third and fourth generations, and blessings will continue for a thousand generations. (Exodus 34:7 NIV)

No one can escape the curses of genealogy. It’s like a cobweb in the spirit realm, with the devil taking pleasure in the accusations. We see him scheming and looking for all means to accuse Job because he wants some power over him, (Job 1:9–11 NIV). All these things are fresh in the spiritual realm. The curses, covenants, oaths, altars, idols, demonic influence, etc., trace us through these links because we are part of those who did those things. We were within them in a mystery while they were doing it. That is why it was said that Levi was in Abraham when he was paying tithe to Melchizedek. (Hebrews 7:9–10 NIV)

Physical death cannot save us from the entanglements of genealogy because physical death is spiritual sleep. The only way to be released from these curses and agreements is to be born free from genealogy or experience spiritual death. How can we experience spiritual death or be born free from genealogy? Spiritual death is the separation of spirits, and it is feared by all spirits, including the devil. (It is also known as the Last Judgment). It causes great pain as no spirit can exist alone. The life of one is in the other.

What was considered impossible in all spiritual realms became possible: Jesus, the Christ, was born free from genealogy. The genealogy given about him in Matthew 1:1–16 (NIV) was a supposed genealogy because he was not Joseph’s true son. (Luke 1:26–35 NIV) Thus, he did not inherit Adam’s sin, just as Melchizedek had no genealogy. (Hebrews 7:3 NIV) When an unbeliever repents, they die spiritually and are given a new and divine life in Christ. Therefore, Christianity is not born of man’s will but by the Word of God. Christians are not of natural descent as the one who inherited Adam’s sin is dead. They are not linked to anyone on Earth. Understanding this new identity will free you from the guilt of sins, covenants, altars, demonic oppressions, or oaths due to the genealogy link.

Do not let your mind be troubled, but stand on this understanding of the truth, and victory will follow. The truth is that you are dead to all that is in the spiritual realm; you are cast out from there, and all that is happening is manipulation to gain power over you through your mind. If you continue believing in spiritual battles, covenants, oaths, altars, etc., your mind will create those battles for you. They will affect you through your mind because we are believers. What you believe in becomes your reality.

You are the Christian, and that is your identity. You have entered God’s rest (Sabbath) in Christ, meaning Christ has brought life to the spirit of rest within you. You are a spirit of rest; no spiritual battle can be waged against you. No spirit can wage war against you, for you are divine, and there are no accusations against you in all the ten kingdoms because you are light, so rebuke them.

If you believe in spiritual battles, you will fight because you think the devil is another source of power. But once you understand that there is only One Power and only One Authority (One Person who issues decrees), they will flee before you in ten different ways, even without you noticing that they came. Light does not need to fight darkness; they flee and scatter. When you understand that there is only One Power and the devil can only have power through accusations (he is the Accuser), and there is no accusation against you because your conscience is pure, you can rest; nothing will happen, no matter the waves or persecution.

We are no longer in that spiritual realm, so you are a nuisance to them. No demonic alter or oracle even wants you for free because the firstborn of their kingdom (spirit of sin) has been destroyed in you at repentance (Passover night). So, just as with the Israelites in Egypt, these evil spirits don’t want you among them. Except, you have darkness; they can’t trade with you (Revelation 18:11, 15–17 NIV).

No altar or oracle wants you because you are light. Darkness does not desire light. So, everything depends on your mindset. Our spirit was renewed through repentance, and our soul was renewed through water baptism, but the mind was not. The Angel covered it (soul) at Passover to prevent us from dying physically during repentance. So, the mind is the weak link. The devil knows this and uses all sorts of deception and sorcery to make us believe that nothing happened to us (that we are the same person). The mind is cleansed (renewed) through the sprinkling of the water of the Word.

There are fundamentally three types of cleansing in the Bible, even though they appear ceremonially as many kinds: cleansing the spirit, soul, and mind.

Christ told his disciples, “He who is clean needs only to wash his feet,” and he instructed them to help each other by doing this. (John 13:7–10 NIV; Exodus 30:21 NIV) So, if you are clean, all you need now is to cleanse your mind with the Word of God (that is, you need to understand your deliverance and live it).
