“Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what may come upon the land.” — Ecclesiastes 11:1-2 (NIV)
In addition to saving and spending, we should consider investing a portion of our resources in profitable opportunities. Over time, this can yield many blessings.
The Bible encourages us to make investments; it is a more biblical approach to multiplying our resources than many misguided doctrines suggest.
An investment involves planning to put your resources to work today in order to obtain greater returns in the future. This can significantly impact your financial stability, especially in your retirement years.
Avoid putting all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your investments; do not place all your hopes on a single venture, as you cannot predict which challenges may arise (Ecclesiastes 11:6, NIV).
Savings and investments are two different aspects of financial management. Therefore, do not invest everything and risk regret when difficulties occur.
Thank you, Lord, for Your Word.
I pray that You teach me how to multiply my resources.
Lead me to the right opportunities, and guide me in diversifying my investments. You alone are my source of wisdom.
Thank you, Lord, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
