Trust in the Lord

“Some trust in chariots, and some trust in horses, but we will remember the name of our God.”

— Psalms 20:7, NKJV

Often, we recite Bible verses, but when we face situations similar to those encountered by the men of God who wrote these verses, we can lose hope.

What is your situation?

– Have all your friends paid their school fees except you? Some of them have wealthy parents, while others can count on rich friends, but you have no one to rely on. What can you do?
– Have you been wrongly imprisoned? You are innocent, yet no one believes you, and there is no one to help you. Your pleas are ignored because they say you are less privileged. What can you do?
– Are you qualified for a job, but the employer wants you to provide a godfather or a bribe? No one in your family is important enough to serve as a godfather. What can you do?
– Are you very poor, yet you have big dreams? Every one of your friends claims to have a destiny helper. Your savings represent what your friends spend in a week. What they can accomplish with their finances in one month may take you five years to achieve. You know you have what it takes, but no one is willing to give you a chance. What can you do?

Consider Israel; they faced a similar predicament: a young nation surrounded by giants and well-armed rivals. Imagine going to war with nothing but basic tools and a few horses against organized nations with massive armies. They didn’t dwell on questions like, “What can we do?” Instead, Psalms 20:7 emerged from such circumstances.

Whenever you find yourself in a disadvantaged position, do not become disheartened. Instead, work through it with God. Others may trust in their wealth or connections, but you should place your trust in God and strive to build something great with Him (Psalms 27:14, NKJV). Acknowledge your disadvantages, but work towards a brighter future despite them.

Remember, while everyone seeks something or someone to rely on in this world, true blessings come from God (Proverbs 29:26, NKJV).

This is real: the nightmare is unfolding in my life. Everything feels like my world is coming to an end. What I have been avoiding all my life has finally found its way into my reality. I am innocent, but that makes no difference. I did nothing wrong, yet it feels as if “evil” has an appointment with me.

Trouble came uninvited. If it had knocked at my door, I would not have let it in, but instead, it broke into my life. I am innocent. Who did I offend? What did I do wrong that everything seems to be working against me? Has my life become a battlefield? Therefore, I call upon You, O my Helper.

I have no one to stand for me, but You reign in this place. Trouble surrounds me and has already ordered a coffin for me, but I declare that You are God in this place—yes, in this place!

Everything around me points to my demise, but I declare that You are God in this place—yes, in this place! The clouds are surrounding me; I can’t see a future for myself, but I declare that You are God in this place—yes, in this place. You are the God of the impossible.

Everyone around me seems to be content with my situation, but I declare that You are God in this place—yes! Troubles came uninvited, breaking every protocol, but I declare that You are God in this place—yes, in this place!

I am tired. My heart is heavy, heavier than I can bear. My voice is gone, but still, I have hope in You, O God, my Ebenezer. They can take everything from me, but my hope in You is unwavering—Your decree will deliver me.

The Lord whispered, “I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears.” You are God in this place. Yes! You reign forever. Amen.
